Teaching Kids to Move
Kids are inherently excited to move. However, adults do need to take the initiative to teach. If we ignite that fire kids will continue to move on their own. Just as we need to teach them to dress, to sleep, to bathe, we need to teach them to play. We need to teach them to exercise, to play games, to run, to jump. We need to teach them imaginative play, to show them their abilities as small humans. This means that we need to swing from the monkey bars, get down on the floor and show them yoga poses, teach them the game of Tag and Kick the Can. This is our job as adults and parents to get our kids moving and playing.
