Cash vs Insurance
Insurance Covered Medical Rehabilitation
Applies if you are seeking care to address an active medical condition, structural injury, or physical ailment that impacts your daily life.
The Physical Therapy Focus: Recovering from joint surgeries, healing a tissue tear, treating severe balance deficits to prevent falls.
The Requirement: A recent medical diagnosis must be documented and this must correlate with the PT clinical symptoms and findings (the PT diagnosis.) A plan of care and an end date will be determined be your PT and will be adhered to.
The Billing: We are legally required to bill Medicare Part B and have the opportunity to bill commercial insurance for these services.
Cash-Based Biomechanical Wellness
Applies if you are healthy, free of active medical injuries and want to optimize how your body moves for sport, hobbies and long-term longevity.
The Physical Therapy Focus: Enhancing your golf or tennis swing, optimizing and correcting lifting mechanics, improving posture and optimizing muscle conditioning and overall movement.
The Requirement: You must pass a PT assessment confirming the absence of an underlying active pathology or clinical ailment. There is no strict end date.
The Billing: Because wellness is completely excluded from Insurance coverage, you pay our standard flat cash rate directly. No claims are submitted to insurance.
Your Questions, Answered
-
When you schedule an appointment you will be asked to create a case and input your insurance information.
At your visit, your therapist will evaluate and treat your specific case.
Your PT will then assign a specific number of appointments allotted to treat your case under insurance.
Those appointments will be scheduled immediately following the 1st visit.

The tissues are completely intact, but they are being loaded incorrectly.
Think of it like a car. If a tire blows out, that is a pathology, a structural failure. If the wheels are out of alignment, the tires are perfectly fine, but they will experience uneven friction, heat and premature wear. That alignment issue is a mechanical dysfunction.
In the human body, that uneven friction and mechanical stress trigger pain receptors, causing the feeling of pain, a secondary muscle spasm and a false weakness, even though an X-ray or MRI will show completely normal healthy tissue.
-
structural damage - the tissue itself is disrupted or diseased.
-
a physical illness, disorder, or health problem—typically one that is mild, ongoing, or minor in severity.
-
If the pain is driven strictly by a mechanical joint dysfunction there is no structural injury, no medical diagnosis and the pain will resolve by fixing the mechanical joint dysfunction. This is called Biomechanical Optimization. The treatment targets the movement system, not a medical condition.
-
Insurance pays based on WHY you are being seen not WHO is providing the service.
-
At our practice, we use the F.A.S.T. (Facilitation Activation Systematic Therapy) Approach to get straight to the root cause of your movement trouble. This evaluation system clearly reveals whether your condition stems from a mechanical joint restriction, a recent tissue injury, or an underlying pathology or ailment. From here, we can confidently determine medical necessity to guide you toward specialized medical rehabilitation or biomechanical optimization.
