FAQs

What is the F.A.S.T Approach?

(FACILITATION, ACTIVATION, SYSTEMATIC THERAPY)

The goal of the F.A.S.T Approach™ is to re-establish normal stresses at the joint level, returning surrounding tissue tension and length to normal. This restores normal function to the body part and allows for an increase in overall activity level and play for all ages and abilities.

We have an extensive understanding of Neuromechanics. Neuromechanics is the relationship between neural circuits and biomechanics and seeks to understand how muscles, sense organs, motor pattern generators, and the brain interact to produce coordinated movement. Facilitation of joint movement, movement control, balance and power are the formula to comprehensively address the whole movement system to allow you to get back to your favorite activities. All of our physical therapists go through a rigorous Mentorship Program to learn the F.A.S.T Approach™

Who do you treat with this approach?

2

We proudly treat all ages and all abilities. Whether you are a youth athlete recovering from a sports injury, an adult managing chronic pain, an individual with mobility challenges, or a senior looking to maintain independence, our care is tailored directly to your individual starting point. We treat many families from infants to moms to grandparents to keep everyone playing.

What does "we fix movement and promote play" actually mean?

3

Instead of just treating symptoms we address and assess the movement system. "Fixing movement" means addressing root causes like biomechanical dysfunctions, compensation patterns, and muscle imbalances. "Promoting play and activity" means our ultimate goal isn't just relieving pain—it's empowering you to get back to the sports, hobbies, recreation, and active living you love.

What should I expect during my first visit?

4

Your initial session begins with a comprehensive evaluation where we discuss your medical history, current pain or limitations, and personal goals. We will perform a full movement assessment to identify baseline mechanics, then address the movement dysfunction using the F.A.S.T Approach framework.
